I don't know if this is the place to describe my problem, but here it goes.

OS: Ubuntu Linux 10.04 LTS ALSA version 1.021 Audio card: Ceative Audigy 2 zs Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GT240 (latest install)

Before installing the video card above, I had NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS. ALSA recognized perfectly the Audigy 2 zs audio card and everything was working OK. I had to replace the GeForce 8400 (became defective) and installed the GT240 and now, ALSA does not "see" the Audigy card. For audio, on the /proc/asound/cards/ directory it shows:

0 [NVidia ]: HDA-Intel -HDA NVidia

HDA NVidia at 0xdfbfc000 irq 17

" " etc.

There is no entry for the Audigy card even though it is part of the hardware recognized by the OS. Don't have an idea why ALSA stopped recognizing mentioned hardware.
